Tile Installation & Repair
Bathroom and kitchen tile work, grouting, and repairs
About Tile Installation & Repair
Quality tile installation transforms bathrooms, kitchens, and floors with durability and beauty that can last 60-75 years with proper care. In South Florida, tile is an ideal choice for our climate—it stays cool underfoot, resists humidity, and holds up to our active lifestyles. However, tile work is precision craftsmanship where mistakes are immediately visible and permanent. From proper substrate preparation to perfectly aligned grout lines, professional installation ensures your tile investment delivers lasting beauty and performance.
Problems We Solve
Recognize these issues? Our experienced technicians handle them every day.
Cracked or Chipped Tiles
Impact damage from dropped objects is common in kitchens and bathrooms. Sometimes underlying substrate issues cause cracks to appear in multiple tiles.
Loose or Hollow-Sounding Tiles
Tiles that sound hollow when tapped or feel loose have lost their bond with the substrate. This worsens over time and can lead to complete tile failure.
Discolored or Crumbling Grout
Grout deteriorates over time, especially in wet areas. Discolored, crumbling, or missing grout allows water penetration that damages substrates and grows mold.
Water Damage Behind Tiles
Failed grout or caulk allows water behind tiles, damaging backer board and framing. Often discovered when tiles start falling off or mold becomes visible.

Helpful Tips & Advice
Knowledge from our experts to help you make informed decisions and maintain your home.
Seal Grout in Wet Areas
Grout should be sealed every 6 months to 2 years depending on use. Bathroom grout exposed to daily showers needs more frequent sealing.
Address Cracks Promptly
Even small cracks allow water penetration. Replace cracked tiles quickly, especially in showers and around tubs.
Use Proper Cleaning Products
Harsh cleaners and acids damage grout. Use pH-neutral tile cleaners for regular maintenance and avoid bleach on colored grout.
Re-caulk Corners and Edges
Caulk (not grout) should be used where tile meets other surfaces. Replace cracking or moldy caulk immediately to maintain the water barrier.
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about tile installation & repair services answered by our experts.
A typical bathroom floor takes 1-2 days, a shower 3-5 days, and a kitchen backsplash 1 day. Larger projects and complex patterns take longer. This includes preparation, installation, grouting, and curing time.
We can often find matching tiles or very close alternatives. For discontinued styles, we may suggest accent approaches or partial re-tiling for a cohesive look.
Sanded grout is stronger and best for joints wider than 1/8". Unsanded grout is for smaller joints and polished tiles that sand could scratch. We select the appropriate type for each application.
Grout needs to cure for at least 24-48 hours before exposure to water. Grout sealer should be applied after 72 hours, then another 24 hours before use. Plan for about 5 days total.
Properly installed tile with adequate waterproofing is ideal for Florida bathrooms—it's completely waterproof and handles our humidity perfectly. LVP is a good budget alternative but won't last as long in wet areas.
